WHAT IS ON THE MENU:
There will be some amazing long and short films, expo with local and international arts and crafts, food and drinks, a free raffle (your order serves as your raffle ticket), and exciting prizes to win – including SurfEars, books, vouchers, art, crafts and more.  There’ll be live music from Johnny Ceesh to sway to, and some of the filmmakers will be there for Q&As. But most importantly, there’ll be time to meet and catch up with each other!

17:00–18:30: Film Block 1 (90 minutes)

• Short introduction by I Love the Seaside and the Holland Surf Association.
• Je Moet Het Water In – Koen Broekema – The Netherlands – Q&A
  Dutch filmmaker Koen Broekema’s debut film captures the stoke of our North Sea surfers. (20 min, English subtitles)
• Here.Now. – Max Riton & Catalina Hotz – Chile – Benelux premiere
  A poetic ode to the ocean, surfing, bodysurfing and the simple joy of being in the water. (3 min, English subtitles)
• Godpower – Geoff Browne – Nigeria – Q&A – European premiere
  In the coastal community of Tarkwa Bay, Nigeria, local surf instructor Godpower faces morally questionable temptations under the scorching sun as he struggles to provide for his family. A film that makes you think about the things we take for granted. (20 min, English subtitles)
• Untamed – by Oxbow – Mentawai – Benelux premiere
  Pure women’s surf power! Surfer Laura Coviella tackles increasingly bigger waves on a trip to the Mentawai Islands. (15 min, English subtitles)
• Surf Eat Repeat – Karen Song – New York – Benelux premiere
  A celebration of diversity. A lighthearted glimpse into the diverse women’s and surf culture of Rockaway Beach, New York. Join the surfers in the water and around the table for shared meals after their sessions, each representing a different culture. (20 min, English subtitles)

18:30–20:00: Break

• Food, drinks, live music by Johnny Ceesh, and the exhibition. Meet the makers and discover illustrations by Trevor Humphres, wetsuit repairs by Bear, handmade changing ponchos by Buenos Ponchos, SurfEars ear checks, surfboards by Ollywood and Surfrider Netherlands, and much more!

• Underneath the Willow Tree – Charlie Cadin – Jersey
  Charlie Cadin explores and makes surfboards using fully biodegradable beeswax. (3 min, English subtitles)
• Marketplace – Elina Naboka – US/Hawaii – European premiere
  When recovering from a brain surgery becomes a deep dive into surfboard history, professional surfer Simon Hetrick sets out on a new adventure – rediscovering his relationship with surfing. (19 min, English subtitles)
• Hotpipe Hillbillies – Clare Hayes – UK – Benelux premiere
  This playful, beautifully crafted film follows a dedicated group of surfers who cherish the industrial outflow pipe at Shoreham-by-Sea as their local surf spot. With a generous dose of humour, the documentary celebrates the community spirit and resilience of these surfers. A film that will strike a chord with our North Sea community! (20 min, English subtitles)
• North Country – Lewis Arnold – UK
  A visual teaser for the film premiering later this year. Stunning images, shot with a love for Scotland’s northern reaches, from Thurso to the Hebrides. (3 min, followed by a short Q&A and an introduction to the maker’s book, Glass, Sea Change)
• Step Up – Arthur Picard – Nazaré – Benelux premiere
  This documentary follows young French surfer Clément Roseyro as he journeys towards big-wave competitions in Nazaré. (30 min, English subtitles, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Arthur Picard)
• Awards ceremony and raffle (your entry ticket doubles as your free raffle ticket!), with great prizes from I Love the Seaside, C-Skins, Buenos Ponchos, Devoted, and many more.
