Graphic artist and illustrator Gijs Vanhee and his girlfriend travelled along Europe’s shores for many years in their old Mercedes campervan, at all times with a sketchbook at hand. He creates a range of narrative drawings in which birds play a leading role; from larger than life murals and tiny booklets, to illustrating educational leaflets, and also curates art projects. These ink drawings are made with a dip pen and are inspired by some of his favourite surf spots; Domburg, Scheveningen, Sagres, Capbreton and Hossegor.
